Also, foundations were many times funded by wealthy individuals who provided for these grants in their wills. "Why Is The Government Giving The answer to that is even simpler: It's not their money to begin with! The only way the government gets cash is by taxes. So whenever you see those huge government grants being offered, what they're doing is returning a tiny, teensy portion of what they took in the first place. Plus, there are few things that gets a politician or bureaucrat feeling all warm and fuzzy than giving away other peoples money. It makes them look good, helps get them re-elected - and it doesn't cost them a dime out of their own pockets. There's one other thing: If the grant money you get helps you succeed, then you'll eventually be paying it back to them in taxes. Talk about a no-lose situation! I guess it's time to introduce myself.
Reason I'm telling you this... a lot of times when you go to a website you have no idea if there's a real person or company behind it... this way you know there's someone just like you on the other end of this website. I got interested in the grants system because, simply enough... I needed money to change my life and start my own business. I heard about all this "free money" floating around and decided "why not?"
